5.13 The figure on the following page shows a unit circle, which will be used to illustrate a number of the subtasks. (You must therefore print this page.)
(A) For the angle , sin() = 13/20 and
(B) Measure the angle using a protractor. Enter the value in degrees. Convert it to radians and enter this value as well. Also check that the angle is indeed within the range given in (a) task.
(C) Calculate cos() and tan(). Calculate accurately. (Hint: look at example 12.12 in the book.)
(D) Approximate the first value you calculated in (c) to decimal form (miniature calculators may be used), and check in the unit circle that it seems reasonable. Mark in the figure how you measure.
(E) Approximate the tangent value from (c) in decimal form, and check in the unit circle that it seems reasonable. Mark in the figure how you measure.
Note! To obtain the decimal approximations, you must use the calculator's button pair for the four arithmetic methods and square root. The calculator's trigonometric functions
may not be used!
