A topic I would like to research is, the impact of social media on self- esteem and comparison. Where now everything we do is put on social media. Its a platform where everyone wants to feel accepted, and where everyone wants to see whats in and whats not. Social media can be invasive in our lives. It could relate to peoples behaviors and perception. All this exposure on us can have a extreme impact on our self esteem and trigger different behaviors. Social media also affects peoples lives in different ways and sometimes changing how we see ourselves because of the way we compare ouselves to everyone. Hypothesis: This topic will help us understand how people think about themselves and also interact with other people, and important for promoting mental well being and we can come up with some strategies to not have so many negative impact, and maybe less usage on social media. In this study the research method we can use is a quantitive survey. In the questions we can ask, how they use social media, how do they feel about themselves. We'll be using special measures how much people really do like themselves and if they compare themselves to other people. If theres any triggers about how they look and others look. We will measure it to see if theres a connection with social media, I think this might an excellent way to get some lots of information from alot of people and at the same time understand them better and we we'll see if theres a connection. I can't says that social media is the cause for everyones problems but from what we hear its been one of many sources that we hear has impacted many lives. And if we can pinpoint at least one issue we just might be able to try and get some resolution.
