An Agriculture Department study of more than 94,000 samples frommore than 20 crops showed that 73% of conventionally grown foodshad residues from at least one pesticide. Moreover, conventionallygrown foods were six times as likely to contain multiple pesticidesas organic foods. Of the organic foods tested, 28%had pesticideresidues, which includes 7% with multiple pesticide residues.
Compute two estimated probability distributions:
one for conventional produce and one for organic produce, showing the relative frequencies that a randomly selected producthas no pesticide residues, has residues from a single pesticide, and has residues from multiple pesticides.
