Assignment Reflections
This is a reflection assignment to thoroughly examineyourself in the context of technical project management tounderstand what you can do, want to do, need to do, and will do toimprove what have you learnt about yourself through technicalproject management.
In this assignment, examine, discuss, and provide a completetwo-page document by answering, but not limited to, the followingquestions, for example:
What personality type are you and what does that mean about yourmanagement style, your potential, your strengths andweaknesses?
What type of leader do you aspire to be and what do you need todevelop towards that goal?
What type of negotiator are you and what must you work on toimprove?
What will you do about the antipatterns you cause or enable, andthose that you see around you?
Do you understand and appreciate the courses of schedule failureand how to prevent or mitigate them?
How well do you understand the cost and effort drivers of thework you do? Do you use this understanding to guide yourestimates?
To conclude, develop a simple action plan for your owndevelopment in these areas. If you are a competing negotiator, whatwill you focus on to develop as a win-win thinker? If you are aHeadless Chicken, what will you do to help organize, prioritize andfocus? I want you to take this opportunity to boil down thetechnical project management course into a set of "take-aways" (4or 5 of them) that you can focus on to improve your projectmanagement skills and fulfill your potential.
