Graphite is black because it absorbs white light and refelectsno light Whenever any substance absorbs light from visible regionour eyes see the color complementary to it But if a substanceabsorbs all the colors from white light and reflects no color thenthe color of substance appears to be black However diamond iscolorless because it doesnt absorb white light White light
