Accounting

Greytronics LTD is a tech retail franchise located in downtown of Winnipeg. The
company runs with six employees. Everyone has a role in the store. Pahl is the manager who has
been an employee of the company since January 5,2013. Pahl's 38 years old. Lauren works at
the front desk; she's in charge of receiving customers and booking appointments. She is also the
community manager of the shop and in charge of social media and graphic design for marketing
purposes. Erick and Julie work part-time; both are students. Erick and Julie are both students at
the University of Manitoba. Erick's 22 years old and has been working for Greytronics for three
months. Julie's 19 years old and has been working for the company for a year. Jason is a casual
employee that does the exterior cleaning once a week; he also does reparations and maintenance
now and then. Jason has First Nation status and has worked for Greytronics for six years.
Part of Pahl's job is to create a yearly budget for payroll. The District Manager mentioned
to Pahl they want to expand and add the Video Games line to their line of products by June 2022.
Based on historical data, the sales have been increasing consistently by 1% monthly. Palh needs
to hire more employees for the new line of products to happen. He needs to follow some
company policies regarding the successful recipe for the business. The policy stands that payroll
should be on or under 20% of total sales.
Today is January 02,2022; the payroll cut-off day was December 31. The next payday
will be tomorrow, January 03. Another thing on the to-do list is an ROE that needs to be
submitted. One of the employees who had worked for the company for the last seven months quit
the past November; Reynold Williamson's last day was November 17. He worked full-time (75
hours biweekly) at a pay rate of CAD$18.00. He received in total 15 pay periods.
As part of the payroll department, you are asked to double-check the data's accuracy and help
run the payroll for the last pay period and year-end reports.
- Run the last payroll of the year
- Calculate the remittances to pay
- Complete the T4s slip for each employee and a T4 summary to remit to CRA
- Complete an ROE for the employee that stopped working on November 17
- Create a Budget for 2022, and suggest to Pahl how many more employees he should add
to the payroll.
