I would like to have a response on this forms or postfor my psychology class. The focus of my paper is on therelationship between a father and daughter, and how that influencesdaughters’ selection of romantic partners in emerging adulthood. Iwanted to look at research on the effects of the fathers’ ownattachment, as well as maladaptive parenting behaviors/styles, andif this is connected and transferred to future partners. I lookedat research on attachment styles of secure and insecure adult womenduring early childhood, adolescence, and emerging adulthood, aswell as the relationship between the mother and daughter. It hasbeen suggested that parenting styles, along with the parents’ ownattachment preference can offer insight into the formation ofdaughters’ own attachment preferences. This attachment can be usedto understand the model of transference of attachment to romanticpartners. Earlier interactions provide a template for futureinteractions. This research sheds light on unhealthy familydynamics of individuals who did not have a high level ofexploration within their family, and how that might contribute tomaladaptive behaviors of identity and dependence within theirromantic relationships.
