IT audit has existed as a specialized discipline for 40 years, undergoing rapid evolution throughout, along with IT -- environments, systems, risks, controls, and tools.I expect that rapid change to continue. As "digital natives" become the major part of the workforce and IT becomes pervasive throughout organizations, I think that IT risks and controls will somewhat/largely move "out of IT" and into the organization. And IT audit will need to follow, with a broader domain.
I think that progression will make IT audit more difficult. What do you say? Discuss
