Cooling may bedesigned to reduce the ambient temperature within the case of acomputer, such as by exhausting hot air, or to cool a singlecomponent or small area (spot cooling). Components commonlyindividually cooled include the CPU, Graphics processing unit (GPU)and the northbridge.
