Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) (PHB), a semicrystalline polymer that isfully biodegradable and biocompatible, is obtained from renewableresources. From a sustainability perspective, PHB offers manyattractive properties though it is more expensive to produce thanstandard plastics.
