President Cyril Ramaphosa officially opened and addressed thefirst 4th Industrial Revolution SA - Digital Economy Summit. TheSummit was hosted by the 4th Industrial Revolution South Africapartnership (4IRSA), an alliance between partners from the publicand private sectors, academia and civil society. The 4IRSApartnership seeks to develop Human Resource practices that willenhance training and development in South Africa. Furthermore, thesummit presented plans to develop training procedures that will beinclusive, coherent and responsive to the 4IR in the country. Thepresident was quoted saying "Training programmes must allowlearner's to be evaluated in the workplace after a period ofapproximately 6 months to determine whether their performance hasimproved and whether these improvements contributed to theachievement of objectives".
