Responsibility and accountability are essential considerationsin trying to
have organizational and systemic ethics. Any area of society canbe
examined and discussed in this context. I want you to look athigher
education—there are ethical issues for all the parties—students,faculty,
administrators, trustees, “owners” (government or private), and thesystem
of higher education itself. Discuss at least three difficultissues:
a. Honesty in teaching and research
b. Allocation of resources—for example, budget, course
requirements, number of faculty, teaching loads
c. Purpose of university
d. Impact of sources of funding
e. Student admissions
f. Cost of education
g. Others of your choice.
