Sandalwood's management is confident that Sandalwood offers a better product than its competitor and that customers wil return in the near future. As a result, management believes that the loss in 2019 is a one-time loss. Sandalwood expects to generate taxable income in the future and expects that the tax rate will increase to 36% in 2020. Required: a) Assume that Sandalwood elects to carry back its loss in 2019 to the earliest possible year(s) regardless of rate differences.
