Secretase family of enzymes are central to the processing ofamyloid precursor proteins (APP) associated with the development ofAlzheimer's disease. They have garnered much attention over theyears as a possible therapeutic target for the disease. Wouldtargeting these enzymes for inhibition be an effective strategy forpreventing the onset of Alzheimer's related amyloid plaqueformation. If not, can you think of another approach that might beeffective that doesn't necessarily involve targeting theseenzymes?
