- Baseball

- Soft styrofoam Block ( In which the ball could become embeddedinto during a collision)

- A level tabletop

- A metre stick

- A balance scale.

The teacher also has determined the coefficient of frictionbetween the block and table.

NOTE: The kinetic coefficient of friction is determinedwhile sliding.

Answer the following below questions:

1. Draw a diagram based on the above question.

2. With the aide of diagrams, derive a single equation that theteacher could use to determine the speed of the ball immediatelyprior to colliding with the block. Show your steps
