What kinds of operating systems are used in the devices that youown? On your personal computer? Your mobile phone? The set-top boxon top of your television? Are there other operating systems thatyou come into contact with? If you can't tell which operatingsystem is in each of these devices, see if you can search theInternet to find out. For each of these devices (to the extent thatyou can), diagram the hardware/software "layer cake” (Please seeSection 1.1 and Figure 13.1 for explanation). You should have asmany layer cakes as you have devices. Please make sure you answerall the parts.
