Barneyproposes marriage to Rose and she turns him down flat. So, Barneygoes to Rose’s father and tells him that if Rose agrees to marryhim, he will give her a large tract of farming land and her familycan live on her land for free. Rose’s father pleads with her toreconsider and marry Barney. Barney shows Rose the tract of land hehas agreed to give to her if they marry, and she starts to see someof his good qualities. After they are married, Barney refuses todeliver the deed to the property to Rose.
