f) Draw the 5 d orbitals associated with the transition metalcenter and state whether each one will overlap (strongly, weakly,or not at all) with the pi-system of the ligands (state whether theligands are pi-donors or pi-acceptors). Show the pi-overlap in yourdrawings.
g) Show and discuss the effect that these pi-interactions willhave on the d-orbital splitting diagram you drew above.
h) Based on your d orbital splitting diagrams, state whetherelectronic distortions from ideal geometry are expected anddescribe how the geometry might distort. Draw the resulting dorbital splitting diagram.
